Mady the Playwright: 'Home in the Garden' wins big!
In a one-act playwriting competition designed for area high schools, Mady and her friend Stephanie Kiel cowrote "Home in the Garden" which earned them 8th place out of 212 submission. "Home in the Garden", inspired by the struggles of LGBTQ+ teens, is about a boy's struggle with his sexuality, his homophobic mother, and his father's who suffers from heart problems and his own inner demons. When Henry meets Adam, he can't help but feel the love. It connects to the adolescent struggle and the search for a home.
